  • Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a CVOR Tech or Surgical Technologist with relevant CVOR experience
  • Proficiency in sterile technique, instrumentation, and surgical support specific to cardiovascular, thoracic, or vascular procedures
  • Strong understanding of surgical safety protocols and infection control
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and surgical teams
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • BLS certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field for cardiovascular surgical procedures
  • Assist surgeons by passing instruments, handling equipment, and managing surgical supplies
  • Ensure patient safety by adhering to hospital and regulatory guidelines
  • Accurately count instruments, sponges, and sharps before, during, and after procedures
  • Handle surgical specimens in accordance with protocol
  • Perform equipment checks and report any malfunctions promptly
  • Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other support staff for optimal patient care
