Key Qualifications:

  • Current and unrestricted RN license
  • Minimum of 1 year recent PACU nursing experience
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Efficient in EMR charting and documentation
  • Skilled in post-anesthesia patient monitoring and recovery protocols
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess patients emerging from anesthesia, ensuring safe recovery
  • Manage post-operative pain, nausea, and other symptoms as per protocol
  • Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and other healthcare professionals for optimal patient outcomes
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and addressing immediate post-op needs
  • Educate patients and families on recovery expectations and discharge instructions
  • Respond promptly and effectively to potential complications or changes in patient status
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of patient care and recovery progress
