Two skilled nursing professionals are needed for a contract position to assist two medically involved elementary students for the upcoming school year. The role centers around providing personalized care, ensuring safety, and supporting students’ access to education in a dynamic and caring environment.

You will work alongside classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and an on-site nurse to form a strong, supportive network within the school community. From riding the bus with students to addressing complex medical needs, your expertise will make a meaningful difference each day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care to two assigned elementary school students
  • Accompany students on school transportation daily, ensuring health and safety from pick-up to drop-off
  • Monitor health status and administer physician-ordered treatments, including g-tube and trach care
  • Respond promptly and effectively to medical concerns and emergencies
  • Maintain detailed documentation of care and daily activities
  • Collaborate closely with educators, school staff, parents, and district personnel
  • Promote a safe, inclusive environment and facilitate access to learning
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Georgia LPN license (required)
  • Pediatric, school-based, or special education nursing experience preferred
  • Solid background supporting medically fragile students, especially with g-tube and trach care
  • Effective communicator and reliable documenter
  • Able to thrive as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
  • Three professional references required, including one recent supervisor
  • Preferred Experience:

  • School nursing or individualized student support roles
  • Experience with IEPs and school-based health protocols
