Take on a rewarding assignment supporting a remarkable 5th-grade student by providing essential 1:1 medical care throughout the school year. This contract opportunity is ideal for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) passionate about delivering compassionate and skilled care in the educational setting. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the student's health and safety while fostering their ability to thrive at school.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current, active Georgia LPN license required
  • Recent experience in a school setting providing 1:1 care (strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency with G/J-tube feedings and changes, medication administration, oral suctioning, seizure management, and monitoring oxygen
  • Familiarity with asthma management
  • Comfortable providing care both at the student’s home and during transport (bus ride)
  • Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
  • Commitment to following a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and doctor’s orders
  • Role Responsibilities:

  • Meet the student at their residence early mornings (6:30am start)
  • Administer G-tube feedings, manage supplemental oxygen, and monitor vital signs
  • Ride the bus with the student to and from school, providing supervision and medical care as needed
  • Respond swiftly and appropriately to seizures, administer oral suctioning, and manage asthma care
  • Stay alert and proactive in maintaining student safety and comfort
  • Collaborate with school staff and family, keeping thorough documentation
  • Adhere strictly to all privacy, healthcare, and school policies
  • In addition to making a direct impact on a student’s daily life and educational experience, you’ll enjoy the structure of a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends required.
