Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support student health and wellness within a school setting in Ashville, NY. The LPN will work closely with school staff and healthcare professionals to provide routine nursing care, manage student health needs, and help maintain a safe and healthy learning environment throughout the 2026–2027 school year.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff as needed
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies
Monitor student health conditions and report concerns to the supervising Registered Nurse and appropriate school personnel
Assist with the implementation of Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and health accommodations
Maintain accurate and confidential student health records and documentation
Support students with chronic health conditions, including asthma, diabetes, allergies, and seizure disorders
Respond to medical emergencies and follow established school health protocols
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, healthcare providers, and school staff regarding student health needs
Promote a safe, healthy, and supportive school environment
Qualifications
Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing
Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Previous experience in pediatrics, school nursing, long-term care, or community health preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
