An outstanding opportunity is available for a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (APNP) to support individuals in an outpatient behavioral health setting. This part-time position focuses on delivering community-based mental health services with a collaborative interdisciplinary treatment team.

Schedule:

  • 16 hours per week (2 eight-hour shifts)
  • Required day: Thursday
  • One additional flexible day
  • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM shifts (paid lunch)
  • 13-week contract, targeting April 16 start date
  • Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations for new and returning participants after initial assessments by the supervising Psychiatrist
  • Conduct intake assessments and provide continuous psychiatric follow-up care
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medication treatment plans
  • Work closely with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and other behavioral health professionals as part of an integrated care team
  • Participate in comprehensive treatment planning and attend multidisciplinary staff meetings
  • Order labs, diagnostic testing, and other necessary procedures
  • Accurately document all clinical evaluations and treatment interventions in electronic health records
  • Offer clinical consultation and support during interventions, utilizing evidence-based approaches such as motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license
  • Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP)
  • Current DEA license to prescribe controlled substances
  • Eligibility to pass a caregiver background check
  • Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings is preferred (ideally 1+ year), though candidates without prior experience will be considered
