Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Previous experience in a school, pediatric, or community health setting preferred
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of childhood illnesses, immunizations, and emergency protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing situations quickly
  • CPR/BLS certification required
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage acute and chronic health conditions of students
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physicians’ orders
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Lead health screenings and immunization checks
  • Educate students, staff, and families on wellness strategies and disease prevention
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide appropriate care
  • Collaborate with educators and administrators on health education initiatives
  • Support students with special health care needs, developing care plans as necessary
