Advance your nursing career in a dynamic med-surg/telemetry environment within a large teaching hospital known for its Level 1 Trauma designation and comprehensive patient care services. This opportunity calls for an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver patient-centered care among post-op surgical, orthopedic, and complex medical-surgical cases, including bariatrics, cardiac, and chronic disease management.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
  • Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • No on-call responsibility
  • Holiday coverage: one shift per major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
  • Qualifications:

  • Active RN license and BLS required
  • Minimum 2 years Med/Tele RN experience
  • Basic Cardiac Rhythm competency; must pass EKG exam
  • ACLS certification and national med-surg/nephrology certification preferred
  • Proficient in: trach and chest tube care, wound care, post-op monitoring, IV insertion/care, central line management, telemetry, and drips (insulin/heparin)
  • Strong assessment, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team coordination skills
  • Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care for orthopedic, post-surgical, and complex med-surg patients
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, manage telemetry, and interpret vital data
  • Perform IV, CVL, and wound care, plus manage pain control devices (PCA pumps)
  • Coordinate patient education focused on renal and fluid management
  • Ensure effective discharge planning and seamless care transitions
  • Float as needed to other adult med-surg/telemetry units
  • Support & Resources:

  • Full CNA, resource nursing, transport, phlebotomy, and respiratory therapy support
  • Robust orientation: 1 day facility plus 2 days department-specific
  • Centralized telemetry monitoring and advanced technologies (EMR: Epic, Pyxis, Alaris, and more)
