Step into a rewarding role as a Registered Nurse, where you’ll make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and staff across two schools. This contract position includes consistent daytime hours, running from 7:45 AM – 3:30 PM and totaling 37.5 hours each week.

Your daily responsibilities will center around ensuring every student receives the medical attention and advocacy they need. You will manage both chronic and immediate health concerns, perform vision and hearing screenings, and assist with IEP/504 Plan evaluations to ensure students receive appropriate educational support. Maintaining thorough health records and reporting to the appropriate authorities is key, as is fostering clear communication with students, families, and fellow professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Experience as a school nurse (CSN certification is a plus)
  • Skilled in compassionate care and effective health management
  • Comfortable supporting students with a variety of medical needs
  • Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills
  • Strong communicator, able to collaborate with educators, families, and school leadership
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care to students and staff
  • Conduct state-mandated health screenings (vision, hearing)
  • Participate in IEP/504 evaluations, assessing how health impacts learning
  • Maintain detailed, confidential health logs and records
  • Adhere to school district and state policies, including reporting to ISBE
  • Promote and educate about best health practices within the school
