Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid RN license in Connecticut (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of care planning, emergency protocols, and chronic condition management (e.g., diabetes, asthma, allergies)
  • Excellent communication skills for interactions with students, parents, and staff
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing situations

    • Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications, first aid, and routine health screenings according to district policies
  • Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies
  • Develop and maintain care plans for students with individualized health needs
  • Serve as a health resource, providing guidance and education to students and staff
  • Document all health services rendered in accordance with school procedures
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and outside healthcare providers to support student well-being
  • Monitor and report communicable diseases as required
