Make a meaningful impact by providing dedicated nursing care to a transition student in a supportive school setting. This full-time contract position focuses on delivering 1:1 nursing support to a 20-year-old student with complex medical needs, including a tracheostomy, G-tube, and wheelchair mobility. Your expertise will be invaluable in ensuring the student's safety and well-being during travel and throughout the school day.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in Illinois
  • Experience in school nursing, or direct care with medically complex individuals
  • Skill in trach and G-tube care, as well as mobility and transfer support
  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a school environment
  • Flexibility and professionalism, with a commitment to supporting the student’s educational experience
  • No PEL (Professional Educator License) required
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accompany student on the daily bus route from home to school and back
  • Provide 1:1 medical care, monitoring vital signs, and responding promptly to any health needs
  • Administer trach suctioning, G-tube feedings, and all other required medical interventions
  • Assist with mobility needs and maintain thorough documentation of care provided
  • Communicate effectively with school staff and guardians to ensure continuity of care
