    • Qualifications:

  • RN license with a minimum of 2 years’ recent Cardiothoracic ICU or CVICU experience.
  • Demonstrated competency caring for fresh post-operative hearts.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – all current and required.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is necessary.
  • Proven ability to manage patients with diagnoses such as post-cardiac surgery, cardiogenic shock, and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).

    • Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized care for a 6-bed CTICU, ensuring vigilant monitoring and timely interventions for post-surgical cardiac patients.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Interpret and respond to complex cardiovascular and post-operative changes; manage advanced life-support equipment as required.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in the EPIC system.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery, and ongoing care.
  • Uphold high standards in infection prevention, patient safety, and evidence-based nursing practices.
