A dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is needed to support a student with a seizure disorder during their daily commute. As the school's LPN for bus transportation, you’ll ensure the student’s health and safety on both the morning and afternoon routes.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid LPN/LVN license in Illinois
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school or pediatric setting
  • Familiarity with seizure disorders and emergency protocols
  • Strong observation and assessment skills
  • Comfort working independently and maintaining a calm presence during medical events
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with school staff, students, and families
  • Role Responsibilities:

  • Ride the designated school bus routes with the student each morning (7:00–8:25 a.m.) and afternoon (2:00–3:15 p.m.)
  • Monitor the student continuously and be alert to any signs of distress or seizure activity
  • Administer necessary medical care as outlined in the student’s care plan
  • Ensure emergency medications and procedures are followed
  • Document health observations and interventions
  • Communicate promptly with school nursing staff and guardians as needed
