A unique opportunity awaits for a dedicated and flexible LPN to support a middle school student in a transition program located near New Oxford, PA. Working within a special education/autistic support setting, you'll help a male student who is ambulatory and independent, requiring primarily verbal prompts and supervision during community outings as part of his educational experience. While the school’s building nurse manages medication, your focus will be on seizure monitoring and readiness to assist with emergency medications if needed. This contract position runs from August 18, 2026 to May 27, 2027, offering a varied part-time schedule.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current and active LPN license in Pennsylvania is required
  • Experience in a school setting or with students with special needs strongly preferred
  • Confident in seizure monitoring and acting in emergency situations
  • Reliable, effective communicator who can follow detailed care plans and interfaces well with educational staff
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing weekly schedules based on student activities in and out of the building
  • Ability to motivate and prompt students using verbal cues
  • Possession of reliable transportation for community-based activities
  • Responsibilities:

  • Supervise student on campus and during off-site, community-based activities per program needs
  • Provide seizure monitoring at all times while accompanying the student
  • Administer emergency medication if required (no routine medication administration needed)
  • Support the student in achieving independence during transitional and vocational experiences
  • Communicate observations and relevant updates to the supervising team and school nurse
