Step into a rewarding opportunity making a difference in the lives of students while providing specialized nursing support. We are seeking a PEL-Certified School Nurse for a maternity leave assignment beginning December 14, 2026, through March 15, 2027. This 12-week full-time contract role offers the chance to support two buildings in an engaging educational environment near Aurora, IL. There is the potential for extension.

You’ll split your time between a high school—Monday through Wednesday, 7:00 am to 2:30 pm—and an elementary school—Thursday and Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm—ensuring a varied and balanced schedule within the school week. Your focus will be on delivering critical health office services to students, collaborating closely with educational teams, and providing vital assistance in IEP meetings for students with special needs.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must hold an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Nurse endorsement
  • Demonstrated experience and interest in school nursing, preferably within K-12 settings
  • Strong background in pediatric and adolescent health
  • Proficiency supporting special needs students and participating in IEP processes
  • Skilled communicator able to connect with students, staff, and families
  • Candidates must submit proof of PEL certification and an up-to-date resume
  • This position is open exclusively to Certified School Nurses (RNs with PEL); not accepting LPNs or RNs without PEL
