Deliver high-quality nursing care to students in a K-8 school environment as an experienced Registered Nurse. Located near Des Plaines, IL, this contract role involves supporting a student population of approximately 500, ensuring their health and safety while providing comprehensive school nursing services.

Ideal candidates will have a background in school nursing and the capability to manage the unique needs of elementary and middle school students. This full-time position provides the flexibility and fulfillment of working closely with young learners and educational staff.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois
  • Previous school-based nursing experience required
  • Proficient in health assessments, emergency care, and chronic condition management within a school setting
  • Confident working independently with K-8 students
  • Skilled communicator and collaborator with students, parents, and staff
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to FERPA/HIPAA guidelines
  • Must confirm ability to commute reliably to Waukegan, IL

    • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct care to students, including medication administration, first aid, and emergency response
  • Develop individualized health care plans for students with chronic conditions
  • Promote a healthy school environment by managing communicable disease control
  • Serve as a health advocate and resource for students, faculty, and families
  • Oversee health screenings and immunization compliance
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation according to district policies
