Step into a vital role supporting student success as a dedicated health aide in a school-based setting. This contract position is focused on providing personalized, one-on-one care for a student in an essential skills classroom, ensuring their health, safety, and access to educational opportunities each day. Your ability to deliver compassionate, attentive medical support will make a direct impact on a child’s school experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications through G-tube as prescribed, following medical and school protocols.
  • Perform frequent suctioning as needed throughout the school day.
  • Assist with oral feeding, hydration, and monitor intake to ensure safe swallowing practices.
  • Support toileting needs respectfully, maintaining hygiene and comfort.
  • Safely assist with lifting, positioning, and transfers using proper techniques.
  • Monitor and document the student’s health status and communicate concerns to appropriate staff.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and health professionals to address the student’s educational and medical requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment for individualized care.
  • Qualifications:

  • Current LPN certification.
  • Experience working with children, especially those with complex medical requirements, is highly valued.
  • Proficiency or training in G-tube care, suctioning, and feeding assistance is preferred.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks, including safe lifts and transfers.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
