This full-time, full school year contract role offers an opportunity for a skilled LVN/LPN to work closely with students across different campuses, ensuring they receive top-tier medical care and support during their school day.

As an itinerant nurse, you'll take on vital responsibilities, including monitoring students’ health plans, providing staff training on essential medical procedures, connecting with families, and being on call for urgent health concerns. Candidates with previous school experience and expertise in specialized care—such as gastronomy, bladder cauterization, diabetes management (including CGM and carb counting), and the administration of emergency medications—are highly encouraged to apply.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification
  • Prior work experience in school settings
  • Comfortable with 1:1 care for students ages 4-22 with a range of medical and developmental needs
  • Familiarity with seizure and individualized health plans
  • Competence in administering insulin, emergency medications, and managing hypo/hyperglycemia
  • Skills in providing care for students with autism spectrum disorder or developmental delays
  • Ability to educate and train school staff on medical procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills to connect with students, staff, and families
  • Bilingual Spanish abilities a plus, but not required
