Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active and unrestricted RN license in Illinois
  • Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred
  • Strong assessment, triage, and documentation skills
  • Ability to respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid
  • Excellent communication skills for interactions with students, parents, and staff
  • Organized, flexible, and able to multitask in a dynamic setting
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and care for students experiencing illness or injury during the school day
  • Administer prescribed medications and medical treatments, following physician orders
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote a healthy and safe learning environment
  • Educate students and families about health conditions, hygiene, and wellness practices
  • Support chronic disease management and care plans for students with special medical needs
  • Follow established protocols for communicable disease management and reporting
