Make a meaningful impact in a student’s life by providing essential nursing care in an educational setting. A contract opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse who thrives in a supportive school community, working closely with one student to deliver high-quality, personalized care through the academic year.

In this role, you'll start your journey in the middle to end of August, taking part in two or three home sessions to build rapport and gain understanding of the student’s needs. The assignment will run through June 11th, offering the chance to develop a strong, trusting relationship in a rewarding school environment.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting highly valued.
  • Expertise in managing respiratory concerns, including suctioning.
  • Skilled in seizure monitoring and administering medication as prescribed.
  • Proficiency in custodial care tasks, including changing and use of a hoyer lift (with para support).
  • Compassionate communication skills and ability to collaborate closely with families, educators, and support staff.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 medical support for a student with complex needs during classroom activities and transitions.
  • Monitor respiratory status, suction as needed, and respond promptly to any changes.
  • Vigilantly observe for seizure activity; administer medication and follow interventions as per care plan.
  • Assist with custodial care and safe transfers in coordination with paraprofessional support.
  • Document care and communicate effectively with healthcare providers and the school team.
