We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with specialized expertise in Cardiac Stepdown, ready to make a meaningful impact while working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team. Schedule:

  • 12-hour night shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • 13-week contract

    • Required Qualifications:

  • Active RN license valid in New York
  • Minimum 5 years of RN experience, with substantial recent work in a cardiac telemetry/stepdown department
  • Demonstrated experience with TAVR, Watchmans, Mitral Clips, heart catheterizations, and pre/post-op open heart cases (following transfer from CVICU)
  • Proficiency in cardiac IV and PO administration, comprehensive knowledge of cardiac drips (including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Heparin, Insulin), and anticoagulant management
  • Confidence in managing patients with CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (NSTEMI, STEMI), PE, post-op CABG (>3 days), sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, observation patients, and experience with TR bands and groin management
  • Familiarity with observing for and intervening in complications
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Completion and submission of a telemetry skills checklist

    • Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a dedicated patient group, acting as a primary nurse when assigned
  • Provide education to patients and families on health promotion and disease management
  • Administer medications safely and effectively, demonstrating sound clinical judgment
  • Ensure compliance with all nursing standards and regulatory requirements
  • Participate actively in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide mentorship for onboarding staff and students
