An opportunity is available for an RN skilled in Cardiac Stepdown nursing. This is a contract position in a dynamic 14-bed Intermediate Care Unit serving progressive-level heart, lung, and vascular patients, as well as those advancing from OR and ICU. Supported by advanced technology and a dedicated healthcare team, you’ll play a key role in delivering care to patients with a variety of complex needs.

Schedule & Hours:

  • Night shifts
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week, with option for 48 hours at your request
  • Every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
  • No call requirements
  • Contract duration: 13 – 26 weeks
  • Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Stepdown setting
  • ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
  • Proven EPIC charting proficiency
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to customary float assignments within scope of practice
  • Flu vaccination required November 1 – April 1 unless client-approved exception
  • Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care, encompassing physical, emotional, and psychosocial support for patients and families
  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient conditions
  • Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and care for central lines and complex devices (chest tubes, vasoactive drips)
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, treatments, and discharge plans
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality and adhere to all professional and organizational standards, policies, and safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
  • Black scrubs are required for this unit.
