Step into a vital role supporting patients in a progressive care unit specializing in cardiovascular care. This contract opportunity offers hands-on experience with a dynamic team and the flexibility of either 36 or 48-hour work weeks. The position operates in a high-acuity, 55-bed unit and provides exposure to advanced cardiovascular procedures and monitoring at a dedicated heart hospital.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Night shifts: 4x12-hour (18:30 - 07:00)
  • Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Weekend coverage as needed, on a rotating basis
  • Floating to other areas as necessary
  • Block scheduling available on a case-by-case basis
  • No on-call duties
  • Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with at least 1 year of stepdown experience (2 years preferred)
  • Previous cardiovascular experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (CPI preferred)
  • Experience with EPIC electronic documentation system is an advantage
  • Open to first-time travelers
  • Professional, adaptable, and reliable, with strong communication and clinical skills
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert nursing care for patients with cardiovascular conditions in a PCU setting
  • Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4 to ensure individualized attention and optimal outcomes
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to implement treatment plans and support patient recovery
  • Float to related units as needed to support hospital operations
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
