Schedule/Hours:

  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts weekly (19:00 – 07:30)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Self-scheduling available for weekdays; manager assigns weekends
  • Must be available during the first two weeks of assignment

    • Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Michigan RN license
  • BLS certification (AHA)
  • ONCC or ONS certification required (will accept pending ONS; ONCC must be current)
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU or Stepdown nursing experience
  • Experience administering IV chemotherapy and starting IV lines
  • Familiarity with Welch Allyn vital sign towers, Sigma IV pumps, and EPIC documentation system

    • Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to stepdown general medical and oncology patients, including administration of chemotherapy
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EPIC
  • Monitor and manage IV therapy and vital signs
  • Support patients and families through challenging clinical conditions
  • Flexibly float to other med-surg areas (including AU and ER) as needed to assist with patient care
  • Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4-6, with additional support staff as necessary

    • Additional Details:

  • No on-call requirement
  • Chemo admissions are carefully considered in assignment load
  • Block scheduling may be considered; specific requests can be accommodated
  • Vacation/paid time off requests post-offer must be discussed with onsite manager
