As a Med-Surg RN in a renowned regional teaching hospital and center of excellence, you’ll actively participate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position opens the door to working in a nationally accredited Chest Pain and Stroke Center while gaining experience with specialized patient populations and complex diagnoses. Exposure to diverse clinical protocols and dynamic leadership approaches will enhance your clinical decision-making and communication skills, enriching your resume with valuable experience.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Shifts: 0650-1910 or 1850-0710
  • Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
  • Holiday expectations: 75% of holidays coverage
  • Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks
  • Up to 6 days off approved (excluding holidays; contract extension for additional RTO)
  • Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • 18+ months Med/Tele RN experience
  • BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred (Resource Team)
  • Proficiency in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and management of various drains/tubes
  • Medication gtt management—including cardiac drips, blood products, IVF
  • Familiarity with EPIC, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care in a 10-bed, high-acuity Med/Tele unit
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team—hospitalists, RTs, phlebotomy, charge/resource RNs
  • Float within the region as required (with mileage paid for mid-shift transit)
  • Expected to embrace the department’s positive, engaging culture, including unit book and Netflix clubs
