Schedule/Hours:

  • 5 days, 8-hour shifts
  • 1-2 call nights per week
  • 1-2 24-hour weekend call shifts as scheduled
  • Floating to other departments as needed
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical assistance and direct patient care in pre-operative and intra-operative settings.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, ensure aseptic technique, and maintain sterile fields.
  • Proficiently scrub into at least three specialty areas (transplants, open heart, urology, neurology, robotics, etc.) if possible.
  • Accurately set up OR tables, instruments, and supplies for various cases; update and maintain physician preference cards.
  • Assist in patient positioning, identification and care of biological specimens, and adherence to strict infection control.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, adapting care to the unique needs of diverse patient populations.
  • Support the surgical environment by managing traffic, dress codes, and maintaining high sanitation standards.
  • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology or LVN/LPN program.
  • Valid BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist or current LVN/LPN license.
  • At least 2 years' experience in an OR setting preferred.
