Schedule/Hours:

  • Flexible schedule necessary; must be willing to adapt as patient care demands shift
  • Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an NLN approved nursing program (Associate Degree required, BSN preferred)
  • Minimum 1–2 years of Operating Room experience
  • Active Alaska RN license in good standing
  • Current BLS & ACLS required; PALS preferred
  • National Certification in Surgery/PACU preferred
  • Proficiency in medical and office equipment
  • Strong communication, documentation, and patient education skills
  • Understanding of AORN standards and medical terminology
  • Ability to lead and collaborate, including supervision of administrative staff and techs
  • Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care using the nursing process from assessment through evaluation
  • Coordinate care for surgical patients across the lifespan
  • Apply cultural sensitivity and age-specific best practices
  • Serve as a clinical resource to the team and assist with supervision as needed
  • Provide clear patient/family education and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality outcomes
