Qualifications:

  • Active RN license required
  • Recent experience in school nursing or pediatric settings
  • Demonstrated proficiency with tracheostomy care and oxygen administration (PRN)
  • Proficient in or comfortable learning sign language (to assist DHH student)
  • Ability to ride the school bus with the student (pick-up and drop-off)
  • Compassionate, communicative, and attentive to individual student needs
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care and monitoring for a 1st-grade student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Administer and monitor oxygen and tracheostomy as needed
  • Support verbal skill development; communicate primarily via sign language
  • Accompany and supervise the student on school transportation
  • Coordinate care, document services, and collaborate with the educational team
