1:1 School Nurse
ProCare Therapy is partnering with a school district in Windsor, NY to hire a Registered Nurse (RN) for a school-based transportation support role. This position provides nursing support for students during bus transportation to and from school.
Position Details:
Location: Windsor, NY
Role: School-Based RN – Bus Riding Support
Schedule: Monday–Friday (most weeks expected to be 3–4 days/week)
Hours: Approximately 8:45 AM – 1:20 PM
Setting: Student transportation support
Responsibilities:
Provide nursing support while riding the bus with two students
Monitor students for seizure activity and respond to medical needs as necessary
Administer emergency seizure medication if required per student health plans
Provide tracheostomy care, including frequent suctioning, for a student requiring respiratory support
Monitor temperature, oxygen saturation, and heart rate to identify changes in student condition
Support student safety during transportation and communicate with the school team as needed
Student Health Needs:
One student requires RN support on the bus for seizure monitoring and emergency medication administration (rescue medication has not been needed recently)
One student requires seizure monitoring, possible rescue medication administration, frequent trach suctioning, and ongoing temperature/oxygen monitoring due to medical needs
Requirements:
Active RN license required
Pediatric, school nursing, or medically complex student experience preferred
Comfortable providing trach care, seizure support, and close health monitoring
