Job Title: Certified School Nurse (CSN)

Schedule: Full-Time

Position Type: Contract / Temporary

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Certified School Nurse (CSN) to provide comprehensive health services to students in a school-based setting. The ideal candidate will promote student health and wellness, manage daily medical needs, respond to health-related emergencies, and collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare providers to support student success.

Primary Duties:

Provide skilled nursing care to students in accordance with physician orders, school policies, and state regulations
Assess, monitor, and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies
Administer medications and medical treatments as prescribed
Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), Emergency Care Plans (ECPs), and health-related accommodations
Support students with chronic health conditions, including diabetes, asthma, seizures, allergies, and other complex medical needs
Maintain accurate student health records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, families, healthcare providers, and related service personnel to promote student health and safety
Participate in IEP and Section 504 meetings as the health services representative
Provide health education and promote wellness initiatives throughout the school community
Ensure compliance with infection control procedures, immunization requirements, and school health policies
Supervise and delegate nursing tasks as permitted by state law and district policy

Requirements:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Nurse Endorsement required
Current CPR/BLS certification
Previous school nursing, pediatric, public health, or community health experience preferred
Knowledge of IEPs, Section 504 plans, and school health regulations
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently while effectively partnering with multidisciplinary teams
