Step into a dynamic clinical setting as a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) care. This contract opportunity focuses on delivering high-quality nursing expertise to surgical patients undergoing a wide range of cardiac and vascular procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active and unencumbered RN license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
  • Demonstrated recent experience in a CVOR setting, including proficiency with cardiovascular surgical techniques and protocols
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary surgical and perioperative team
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and patient safety
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and operating room documentation
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide continuous nursing care for pre-, intra-, and post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients
  • Circulate and/or scrub in a variety of open-heart surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, and vascular interventions
  • Monitor patient vitals, hemodynamics, and surgical progress, anticipating needs of surgeons and anesthesiologists
  • Maintain aseptic technique and assist with handling surgical instruments and supplies
  • Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as directed, ensuring all protocols are followed
  • Document all patient interactions, interventions, and perioperative events accurately and timely
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, expected outcomes, and post-surgical care
  • Uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety throughout the OR
