Make a meaningful difference by providing essential medical support to students as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in a dynamic school environment. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers full-time, full school year hours (30 hours per week) and focuses on 1:1 care for medically fragile students across multiple campuses. As you rotate between students and locations, your expertise will be crucial in maintaining student health, fostering safety, and supporting educational access.

Key Qualifications:

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) with current credentialing
  • Prior experience working in school settings is required
  • Skilled in direct care for students ages 4-22, including those with ASD, developmental delays, and complex medical needs
  • Proficient with procedures such as gastronomy care, bladder cauterization, diabetes management (CGM, carb counting, insulin), and emergency medication administration (epinephrine, Benadryl)
  • Able to interpret and implement seizure/health care plans
  • Comfortable leading staff training on medical procedures and protocols
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus, but not mandatory
  • Responsibilities:

  • Review and update seizure and health care plans for assigned students
  • Provide hands-on medical support, including administration of medication and monitoring of students’ health
  • Serve as a communication bridge between students, parents, and staff
  • Train and educate school personnel on individualized health protocols and emergency procedures
  • Be available for urgent student health needs throughout the day
  • Rotate as needed between campuses to support a variety of students
  • This role provides a valuable chance to work closely within a supportive educational framework, positively impacting students' daily lives and partnering with their families. All interviews for this position will take place onsite at the district office.
