Advance your nursing career in a dynamic medical-surgical/telemetry unit serving a wide variety of complex patients, including trauma, transplant, and renal care cases. This contract RN role offers the opportunity to work within a major teaching hospital renowned for its Level I Trauma services, Magnet designation, and comprehensive specialized care centers.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Departmental orientation plus 2 days of unit training
  • Every other weekend rotation required
  • Travelers work 75% of holidays
  • No call required for travelers
  • Approval for up to 6 days off (excluding holidays) with RTO requested up front

    • Qualifications:

  • Current RN license, with at least 2 years of recent MedSurg/Tele experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Expertise in stroke management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, chest tube management, NGT placement, medication drip management (including cardiac, heparin, blood products, IVF)
  • Prior experience with patient types such as renal, liver, trauma, post-operative transplant, and complex surgical patients highly valued
  • Resource Team experience preferred; first-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis

    • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient-centered care for a diverse caseload (RN ratios typically 1:4-6; may surge up to 1:7-8 as needed)
  • Interpret telemetry and manage a range of complex medical devices and drips
  • Float as needed within your assigned regional facilities, remaining on the clock during mid-shift transitions
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, and 24/7 hospitalist/intensivist support
  • Use EPIC EMR, Alaris pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitors
