Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Demonstrated experience in PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of post-surgical patient monitoring
  • Strong skills in assessing, identifying, and responding to complications
  • Adept at collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including surgeons and anesthesiologists
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Reliable documentation and charting abilities
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
  • Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patients as they regain consciousness post-anesthesia, prioritizing safety and comfort
  • Conduct thorough assessments of vital signs and manage signs of distress or postoperative complications
  • Deliver medications and pain management following established protocols
  • Clearly communicate with patients and families regarding postoperative care instructions and expectations
  • Implement physician orders and coordinate care plans with PACU colleagues
  • Document patient progress, interventions, and status changes promptly and accurately
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive care environment
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the PACU
