Make an impact as a contract Registered Nurse supporting preschoolers and kindergarteners in a nurturing school environment near Seattle, WA. This unique role begins with summer learning coverage and extends into the following school year, offering you the chance to build lasting relationships with students and staff.

Your initial assignment focuses on a lively 5-year-old student requiring trach and vent care—she’s otherwise mobile, energetic, and participates fully in daily activities. Start by providing care during summer sessions at Olympic View, then continue in West Seattle as the new school year begins.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver daily nursing care and health monitoring to a student with specific trach and vent needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and parents to ensure seamless support across educational and health domains.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care and health plans in line with school and state guidelines.
  • Participate in IEP teams, care planning, and communication with medical professionals as needed.
  • Provide emergency response and general nursing support for the classroom environment.
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
  • ESA School Nurse Credential issued by the Department of Education (DOE).
  • Previous pediatric or school-based nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills in trach and ventilator care.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic school setting and meet time-sensitive credentialing requirements.
  • Schedule:

  • Summer session: 3 days/week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8AM–12PM; some flexibility for transportation needs).
  • School year: Transition to full-time, 5 days/week beginning in September.
