Make a meaningful impact working as a Program Nurse this summer in a dynamic classroom setting for students with multiple disabilities. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide compassionate care and skilled nursing within an educational environment, supporting both students and staff during the summer program session from July 6, 2026, to August 14, 2026. Located in the Elmira, NY, area near Bath, you’ll be joining a supportive team while gaining valuable experience in school health services.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Previous experience in a school nursing role or with pediatric populations preferred
  • Skilled in administering medications, nebulizer treatments, and managing tube feedings
  • Confidence working with students who have complex medical needs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with educators, students, and families
  • Strong organizational skills to document health interventions and manage daily caseload responsibilities
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver nursing care to students enrolled in the summer program, including medication administration and necessary treatments
  • Monitor the health and safety of students with multiple disabilities
  • Respond promptly to health emergencies following established protocols
  • Maintain clear and accurate health records and communicate updates to relevant staff
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster an inclusive, healthy classroom environment
  • Educate staff and students, as needed, on health procedures and protocols
  • Participate actively in the health services team throughout the duration of the summer schedule
