Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active LPN license issued by the state of Georgia
  • Prior experience in school health settings or pediatric care
  • Skilled in working with students who have specialized medical needs: tracheostomy care, feeding tube management, wheelchair assistance
  • Flexible and adaptive mindset, especially regarding fluctuating caseloads
  • Willingness to ride the school bus as part of the daily routine
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide essential nursing care for students with complex health needs during the school day and while riding the bus
  • Deliver direct medical care involving tracheostomy and feeding tube procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student care and report significant changes to the nursing lead and school administration
  • Support a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all students
  • Coordinate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure consistent care, particularly for a student in a wheelchair
  • Step in as a substitute during a lead nurse’s absence, potentially for an extended period
