Take on a fulfilling contract assignment supporting medically fragile students as a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse. This full-time, full-school-year (30 hours per week) opportunity offers a dynamic and meaningful role, providing one-on-one care as you rotate between students and campuses within the district. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • An active LVN or LPN license in California
  • Prior experience working in a school or pediatric setting
  • Familiarity with gastronomy, bladder catheterization, continuous glucose monitoring, carb counting, and diabetes/insulin management
  • Comfort supporting students aged 4–22, including those with ASD, developmental delays, and complex healthcare needs
  • Experience managing hypo/hyperglycemia episodes and administering emergency medication (EpiPen, Benadryl, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with staff and parents
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish is highly valued, though not required
  • Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and updating seizure and individualized health plans
  • Training school staff on medical procedures and protocols
  • Building rapport with students and their families to understand unique needs
  • Responding promptly to urgent health issues or medical emergencies
  • Providing direct student care, supporting their well-being throughout the day
  • Maintaining detailed and compliant health records
