Make a meaningful impact in the educational setting by providing skilled nursing care to students across transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. This contract role offers the opportunity to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, supporting student health district-wide with a particular focus on diabetes management and coordination with school nursing staff.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid RN license with current certification
  • Demonstrated expertise in pediatric diabetic care, specifically carb counting and insulin administration for young children
  • Ventilator and tracheostomy experience or certification highly preferred
  • Previous experience in a school nursing environment is highly desirable
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary school team
  • Bilingual skills are highly preferred for effective communication with diverse student and parent populations
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver nursing services across multiple school campuses within the district, ensuring comprehensive support for students with medical needs
  • Provide individualized care and support for children managing diabetes, including monitoring blood sugar, carb counting, and insulin administration
  • Assist students with ventilator or tracheostomy requirements, as needed
  • Document medical interventions and maintain communication with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student health plans
  • Actively participate in district health initiatives, screenings, and case management in coordination with other school nurses
