Make a meaningful impact in the educational setting by providing skilled nursing care to students across transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. This contract role offers the opportunity to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, supporting student health district-wide with a particular focus on diabetes management and coordination with school nursing staff.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

Valid RN license with current certification

Demonstrated expertise in pediatric diabetic care, specifically carb counting and insulin administration for young children

Ventilator and tracheostomy experience or certification highly preferred

Previous experience in a school nursing environment is highly desirable

Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary school team

Bilingual skills are highly preferred for effective communication with diverse student and parent populations

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver nursing services across multiple school campuses within the district, ensuring comprehensive support for students with medical needs

Provide individualized care and support for children managing diabetes, including monitoring blood sugar, carb counting, and insulin administration

Assist students with ventilator or tracheostomy requirements, as needed

Document medical interventions and maintain communication with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student health plans

Actively participate in district health initiatives, screenings, and case management in coordination with other school nurses
