Advance your nursing expertise in a dynamic progressive care environment, providing specialized care to cardiothoracic and vascular surgical patients. You’ll be an integral member of a collaborative clinical team within a large teaching and Level 1 Trauma hospital, contributing directly to patient outcomes in a fast-paced, supportive setting.

Schedule Options:

  • Shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Weekend rotation: 5–6 shifts every 6 weeks
  • Holiday shifts required (one shift per major holiday listed)
  • 6-week schedule cycles
  • Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent stepdown/progressive care experience
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, BCR required
  • Strong clinical assessment skills in med-surg and Level 1 trauma settings
  • Expertise in trach care, chest tube management, IV insertion and central line management, wound and post-op care
  • Proficiency with telemetry/cardiac monitoring, drips (insulin, heparin, titratable drips to HR), glucommander
  • Comfortable with care coordination, discharge planning, and patient education
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to stepdown/progressive care patients with acute or chronic cardiovascular, pulmonary, or surgical conditions
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry
  • Manage and administer complex IV infusions and drips within policy
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including RT, hospitalists, intensivists, and resource/discharge nurses
  • Float as needed to adult med-surg/telemetry units within the hospital
  • Utilize Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, Pyxis, and advanced monitoring equipment
