Step into a dynamic role as a Registered Nurse in a Cardiac Stepdown setting, providing essential progressive care to patients recovering from cardiac, vascular, and critical illness. Your expertise will contribute to a 14-bed intermediate care unit, where you’ll deliver comprehensive support and collaborate closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Schedule & Assignment Details:

  • Night shift (36 hours/week guaranteed; 13–26 week contract)
  • Opportunity to request 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend and at least one major winter holiday required
  • Up to five days of requested time off per 13 weeks automatically approved
  • Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid RN license and current ACLS & BLS certifications
  • At least 1 year of recent Stepdown experience
  • Experience using EPIC electronic medical records is a must
  • Ability to manage cardiac lines, chest tubes, and vasopressor drips
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative team approach
  • Dedication to positive patient outcomes and high professional standards
  • Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and adapt nursing care plans for patients with heart, lung, vascular, and progressive care diagnoses
  • Provide skilled assessments, treatments, and interventions (including IV therapy and wound care)
  • Monitor, record, and report changes in patient conditions
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, management, and self-care
  • Maintain documentation integrity within EPIC systems
  • Ensure safety and compliance with all hospital and Joint Commission standards
  • Mentor and delegate to unlicensed assistive personnel as appropriate
