Within a renowned Level 1 Trauma, Teaching, and Chest Pain Center, you’ll care for a diverse spectrum of patients on a high-acuity 35-bed MedSurg/Telemetry unit. This environment delivers invaluable exposure to complex trauma and medical cases—from orthopedic and neuro injuries to advanced cardiac monitoring. Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour shifts: 7A–7P or 7P–7A
  • Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week cycle
  • Holiday expectation: one shift per major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
  • No on-call required
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compassionate, comprehensive care to trauma, orthopedic, surgical, and chronic disease populations
  • Perform strong clinical assessments, wound and post-op care, cardiac monitoring, IV insertion and management
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for discharge planning and patient education, with particular focus on renal and fluid management
  • Float to all adult MedSurg/Tele units as needed
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Active RN license and BLS required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Tele experience
  • Basic cardiac rhythm understanding with EKG competency exam (compliance requirement)
  • Strong med-surg and clinical assessment skills; ACLS, national certifications (MedSurg or Nephrology) preferred
  • Experience with trach care, chest tubes, insulin/heparin drips, telemetry
