This opportunity in a robust 101-bed Emergency Department exposes you to a high-volume, diverse patient population—over 100,000 ED visits annually—making it an exceptional environment to enhance your clinical expertise. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team known for their camaraderie and shared drive to provide outstanding care to a multicultural community, with over 120 languages spoken locally. Gain proficiency with advanced technology like GE monitors and Baxter pumps, and sharpen your adaptability working across all sections of a Level 2 trauma and comprehensive stroke center.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Every other weekend required
  • Flexible assignments to meet department needs
  • No block scheduling; no floating outside the ED but floating within all ED areas
  • Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years RN experience; at least 1 year in an ER setting
  • Previous experience in Level 2 trauma, high-volume centers preferred
  • Certifications required upon hire: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS; ENPC within 90 days
  • Teamwork mentality and real-time feedback skills essential
  • Comfortable coaching peers and working collaboratively
  • Flexible and open to new challenges in a busy ED
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient-centered care, upholding AIDET and unit’s patient experience standards
  • Effectively manage patient ratios (typically 4:1; higher for behavioral holds)
  • Utilize Cerner documentation and maintain real-time communication with patients
  • Float to various roles within the ED as patient needs require
  • Provide mentorship and support for staff and new travelers
