Schedule/Hours:

  • Travel contract (specific schedules vary)
  • Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current and unrestricted RN license in Massachusetts
  • BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred (must obtain within 60 days if not yet certified)
  • O.R. nursing experience and CNOR certification highly preferred
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
  • Professional, positive approach with a commitment to patient-focused care
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in a dynamic perioperative setting
  • Effectively collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
  • Maintain sterile fields, handle and sterilize instruments, and uphold strict aseptic practices
  • Accurately document interventions, patient responses, and ensure timely handoffs to promote continuity of care
  • Engage in patient education, discharge planning, and ethical patient advocacy
  • Respond swiftly in emergency scenarios, safeguard patient privacy, and promote a healthy environment for all
  • Monitor compliance with all hospital standards, including hand hygiene and incident reporting
  • Support colleagues by functioning as a preceptor and pursuing ongoing professional development
