Position Overview:

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year in Newport, Tennessee. This position offers the opportunity to work with students in grades 3–8 within a supportive school environment. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available, depending on candidate qualifications and availability.

Assignment Details:
School Year: August 1, 2026 – May 22, 2027 (dates subject to slight adjustment based on district calendar)
Days per Week: 5
Hours per Day: 7
School Sites: 1 school

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized instructional plans for students with disabilities
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliant documentation
Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
Provide specialized instruction aligned with students’ academic, social, and behavioral goals
Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Qualifications:
Part-Time Position:
Tennessee Special Education License 144 or 145 required
Experience working with students with low-incidence disabilities preferred
Full-Time Position:
Tennessee Comprehensive Special Education License 461 required
Experience working with a broad range of disabilities preferred
Student Population:

Grade Levels: Grades 3–8

Students with low-incidence disabilities, including:

Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD)
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Other Health Impairments (OHI)
Full-Time Caseload (Extended Resource Setting):
