Step into a key clinical role assisting surgical teams as a certified Surgical Technologist (ORT). This contract opportunity provides hands-on experience in a dynamic operating room environment, ensuring high standards of patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid national certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience supporting surgical teams in an acute care or hospital setting
  • Solid knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
  • Proficient with surgical instrumentation, procedures, and operating room protocols
  • Ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong focus on patient safety, confidentiality, and positive clinical outcomes
  • Exceptional communication and collaborative skills
  • Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the operating room for a variety of surgical cases, ensuring required instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and sterile
  • Assist in the positioning and prepping of patients according to surgical best practices
  • Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants efficiently and safely
  • Maintain a sterile field and closely monitor for potential breaks in aseptic technique
  • Handle specimens according to established guidelines
  • Accurately count sponges, needles, and instruments pre- and post-procedure
  • Collaborate with nurses and OR staff to facilitate the smooth flow of surgical cases
  • Participate in cleaning, restocking, and turnover of the operating room as necessary

    $1,331 - $1,408/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
