We are seeking a qualified Certificated School Nurse (CSN) with the appropriate California certifications for a part-time contract opportunity in Menifee, California. This position is ideal for a nurse looking for a flexible schedule while supporting a school in meeting California's state-mandated hearing and vision screening requirements.

Position Details

Schedule: 1–2 days per week
Hours: School-day schedule 

Overview

The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate, perform, and maintain compliance with California's required hearing and vision screening program. The selected nurse will work closely with school staff to ensure all mandated screenings are completed accurately and on schedule.

Responsibilities
Conduct state-required vision and hearing screenings for eligible students.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with California screening requirements.
Coordinate screening schedules with school administration and staff.
Communicate screening results and recommendations according to district and state guidelines.
Maintain student confidentiality and accurate health records.
Ensure all screenings are completed in accordance with California Department of Education requirements.

California State Screening Requirements
Vision Screening

Required for:

Students upon first enrollment in a California public school
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) or Kindergarten
2nd Grade
5th Grade
8th Grade
All students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Hearing Screening

Required for:

Students upon first enrollment in a California public school
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) or Kindergarten
2nd Grade
5th Grade
8th Grade
10th or 11th Grade
All students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Qualifications
Current California Certificated School Nurse (CSN) license with current California Audiometry and Vision Screening certifications
Knowledge of California school health regulations and screening requirements preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a school environment

Compensation for this position ranges from $30.77 to $60.77. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
