This contract position offers an opportunity to work on a 24-bed Medical/Surgical Oncology unit renowned for its strong teamwork, positive culture, and commitment to quality. You'll be part of a night shift team comprised of 1 charge nurse and 5 nurses, collectively delivering exemplary care to oncology and med/surg patients using the meditech EMR and an innovative iPhone-based nursing communication system.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Night shift: 7PM – 7AM
  • Qualifications:

  • Active RN license, with demonstrated Med/Surg nursing experience
  • Oncology experience highly desirable
  • Chemo certification preferred; opportunity to work with chemotherapy administration (only for chemo-certified nurses)
  • ACLS certification considered a plus
  • Positive, collaborative approach essential
  • Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to a diverse group of med/surg and oncology patients, maintaining a typical 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Conduct vital signs assessments according to protocol (q8h for standard patients, q4h for remote telemetry)
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team—six new nurses are currently onboarding, and the charge nurse team is always available for support
  • Utilize meditech for electronic documentation and leverage work iPhones for seamless team communication
