Registered Nurse (RN) – School-Based Position

Location: East Bank and West Bank Areas
Schedule: Full-Time, 35 hours per week
Hours: 7 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch
Work Days: Monday–Friday, following the school district calendar
School Assignments: 1–2 schools maximum

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive health services within a school setting. The RN will serve as the primary nurse for their assigned school(s), supporting the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff while ensuring compliance with state and district health regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Serve as the designated school nurse for assigned campus(es).
Assess, manage, and respond to student health needs, illnesses, injuries, and emergencies.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and district policies.
Develop and maintain Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans as needed.
Monitor and manage students with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, seizures, and severe allergies.
Maintain accurate and confidential student health records.
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers regarding student health concerns.
Conduct health screenings and promote health education initiatives.
Ensure compliance with state, district, and federal health regulations.
Participate in IEP, 504, and other student support meetings as needed.
Provide guidance and training to school personnel regarding health-related procedures and emergency protocols.

Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per district guidelines.
Previous pediatric, school nursing, public health, or community health experience preferred.
Strong assessment, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with school teams.

Work Environment
School-based setting serving students from various grade levels.
Travel may be required between assigned schools when applicable.
RN will function as the primary healthcare professional for the assigned school(s).
